Getting
to Ames

Just where is Ames, Iowa?
Ames, Iowa is
located in the middle of the United States. The nearest commercial
airport
is located
in the
capital
of Iowa,
Des Moines. The Des Moines Airport (DSM) is served by 12
airlines. It
is about a 50 minute drive to Ames
from the Des Moines Airport.
The Local Organizers will arrange for transportation by van to
Ames upon
your arrival.
The cost of the shuttle from the airport to
Ames and back to the airport is included in your registration fee. Those
wishing to rent
a car may do so at the airport. Additional information about
Ames is available from the Ames
Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Ames
Electronic Village.

Shuttle
Information:
Stacy Joiner, the Conference Secretary, will send
out an email in mid-April to all registered participants requesting
their flight arrival and departure information. We anticipate that
shuttles will run roughly every hour on Saturday May 21, Sunday
May 22, Friday May 27 and as needed on other days. More details
will be available once we have people's travel plans. The cost of
the shuttle is included in the registration fee.

Car:

get
onto Interstate 35, from either south or north;
-
take
the US 30 exit (exit 111b) westbound;
-
take
the Elwood drive (ISU exit 146) exit north bound (turn right);
-
follow
Elwood Drive north approximately 1 and a half miles to Lincoln
Way;
-
take
Lincoln Way west (turn left). Scheman is on your left and parking
is available close to the building.
It
is
less
than
half
a
mile
to
the Iowa State University Memorial Union Parking ramp which
is on your right just
before
the
intersection
of Lynn Av. and Lincoln Way; park here if you are staying
at the Memorial Union. Parking for the University housing will
be on your right about a block after you make
this left turn.
